Our Commitment
The Unforgotten Story and its Humble Compass framework are intended to support creative, educational, and reflective exploration—not surveillance. This page describes the information involved when you use the public site or choose to use a connected service.
Information We Collect
Website analytics: The site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate activity such as pages visited, approximate traffic source, device or browser category, and media or resource interactions. The project does not use this information to sell personal profiles.
Local song favorites: Music favorites are stored in your own browser. They are not submitted to The Unforgotten Story.
Email and contact: If you email Samuel, the information you send is received through the email service used for that correspondence. If you voluntarily join The Refuge or another email list, Mailchimp processes the information you submit under its own privacy practices.
Optional support: If you choose to donate, PayPal processes the transaction. The Unforgotten Story does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
Hosting and media delivery: Hosting and media providers, including Netlify and Cloudflare, may process ordinary technical request information needed to deliver pages, images, audio, and video securely.
How We Use Your Information
Information is used only as reasonably needed to operate and improve the site, understand aggregate engagement, respond to messages, provide an email list you chose to join, or acknowledge optional support.
We Never
The Unforgotten Story does not sell visitor information or rent email addresses. Connected services may process information according to their own policies when you choose to use them.
Your Analytics Choice
You can disable this site's Google Analytics in this browser. You can later enable it again. Clearing browser storage may reset that choice.
Children and Student Privacy
The public education pages do not ask children or students to create accounts or submit private classroom information. Please do not send private student records, identifying classroom material, or sensitive information about a child through ordinary email.
Your Rights
You may unsubscribe from an email list through the link in its messages. You may also contact Samuel to ask about information you previously submitted directly to the project. Requests involving PayPal, Mailchimp, Google, Spotify, YouTube, or another external provider may also need to be directed to that provider.
